BREED: Collie Cross
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 2-3 Years
SIZE: Medium/Large

Ivy has come into DBARC from another rescue with whom we often work, and in turn she was given into their care by a kind couple with a farm who often help collies that have become homeless, giving the dogs the chance of a new career as working sheepdogs. But Ivy did not show any desire to work sheep in fact the couple said they thought she would be happiest if she never saw another sheep again - so she is more suited to a career as a lovely pet!
Ivy has lived in a farm situation with lots of space to run and play with other dogs during the day, and then enjoying the comfort of the farmhouse and a cosy stove to sleep around at night. She has known only kindness in this home, but has seen little of the outside world so will need a competent and patient new owner to introduce her to lots of new stuff. She loves people and loves to be stroked and cuddled, but she has never lived with children so we would not wish to place her with youngsters under 10 years. She is good to handle but had not walked much on the lead before coming to DBARC, so will need further training on essential doggy lifeskils
Ivy is an intelligent and energetic dog who will need an interesting and active lifestyle, and company most of the time.
